Silk Chiffon Floral Dress

This 1930’s dress is a gorgeous silk chiffon with a brown background and large cream-coloured flowers. The front neckline is a large v-neck that has a large flounced triangular collar/overlay which, covers the shoulders like an epaulet, covers the bust and goes down into a tip at the centre which, ends just above the belt. The flounced collar continues around to the back of the dress but does not go as low down the back and separates at the centre. The armholes of the dress are sleeveless, drapey and also flounce with the silk chiffon. There is a removable belt that hits at the natural waist. The belt has a clasp buckle made out of faux diamonds. A full-length white acetate slip comes with the dress. This dress is cut on the bias.

Fabric: Silk chiffon

Condition: Mint. The dress is in absolute mint condition. The removable belt has yellowed somewhat with age so is a slightly different colour than the dress.  Also, four of the faux diamonds have fallen out of the belt clasp.

Measurements: The belt can be made different measurements because the fabric is simply wrapped around the back of the belt clasp and pinned or sewn into place. 38" bust, 32 " waist, 38" from waist to hemline in the front, 40" from waist to hemline in the back.
